Why isn't my water heater working anymore?

No hot water does not automatically mean you need a new water heater. The problem may be a thermostat, heating element, ignition component, valve, or another repairable part. We diagnose the problem first, explain what is happening, and help you compare water heater repair with replacement before you decide what to do.

Why does my drain keep clogging?

A clog that keeps coming back can be caused by buildup, roots, a blockage farther down the line, or damaged or restricted piping. We diagnose and clear clogged drains using drain machines, sewer cameras, hydro jetting, and pipe repair when needed so we can address the actual problem instead of repeatedly treating the symptom.

What counts as a plumbing emergency?

Active water leaks, burst pipes, sewer backups, overflowing fixtures, and other problems that could cause damage to your home should be addressed quickly.

What should I do if I have water leaking in my house?

If you can safely do so, turn off the water at the affected fixture. If you cannot stop the leak there, shut off the home's main water supply and call a plumber.

The place where you see water is not always where the leak started. Water can travel along pipes, framing, floors, and other materials before becoming visible.

Why are several drains backing up at the same time?

When several sinks, toilets, tubs, or showers are affected together, the problem may be in a larger branch drain or your home's main sewer line rather than at one fixture.

Other warning signs include bubbling toilets, water backing up into tubs or showers, sewage odors, and clogs that keep returning. Limit water use until the source of the problem is identified because continuing to send water down the drains can make a backup worse.

Should I repair or replace my water heater?

It depends on what failed and the overall condition of the water heater. A repair often makes sense when the tank is in good condition and the problem is limited to a replaceable component.

Replacement becomes more likely when the tank itself is leaking, corrosion is significant, repairs have become frequent, or the existing heater no longer meets the home's hot-water needs.
