Water Filtration Systems Can Improve the Taste and Smell of Your Water

Whether you have a well or if you are on a city water system, water filtration can benefit you and your family. Well water can have heavy metal contaminants as well as bacteria and other problems. City water often has chemicals, like chlorine, that you may want to remove before drinking or using the water. Water filtration may seem expensive initially, but when you compare it to the cost of purchasing bottled water constantly, it can actually save you a significant amount of money.
There are many benefits to water filtration:
- Your water will be more clear, cleaner and safer for you and your family.
- Your water will have fewer contaminants.
- Your water will taste better, encouraging you to drink more and be better hydrated.
- You won't have to spend money or time buying bottled water.
There are two main types of water filtration systems. If you are primarily worried about the water you drink and use for cooking, a point-of-use (also called under-sink) filtration system may be enough for you. This system will reduce the contaminants in the water you use in the kitchen. If you want to reduce sediment and contaminants in the water throughout your home, you will need to invest in a whole house (or point-of-entry) water filtration system. These systems will filter every drop of water used in your home, from the water you use to wash clothes to the water you shower with and the water you use in the kitchen. Whole house systems are good for areas that have mineral deposits and other issues with the water.
