Plano Man Has a Better Idea for Water Balloons
August 22, 2014
A Plano man has come up with an idea that could forever change the way kids play on hot summer days. Josh Malone has invented a device he calls “Bunch O Balloons,” which can fill 100 water balloons in less than 60 seconds. So far, he has raised more than $915,000 through his Kickstarter page.
Malone tinkered with several different prototypes before he finally found the one that would fill water balloons in the quickest way possible. While he said he can produce about 200 packs of water balloons (100 per pack) each day, he plans on being able to produce about 20,000 packs by next spring. He had a good reason to come up with this invention, because he has eight children to keep occupied while they’re out of school for the summer.
A Pleasant Surprise
Malone said he was originally hoping to raise about $10,000 for his idea on Kickstarter, but he’s generated nearly 100 times that amount. The devices attaches to a water spigot; once all the balloons are filled, you simply turn off the water, shake the device, and then they all fall off — incredibly, after tying themselves in seconds.
